Marlon Brando won the Oscar for playing Vito Corleone (1972) and Robert Deniro also won an Oscar playing Vito Corrleone (1974).

I know it’s crude, but damn Winslet was such a babe back then.

Just wondering, but is the word actress obsolete now? I hardly see it used anymore.

But really interesting moment!

Look at the obvious, then look at the people behind those two. Happy for someone not themselves.

Not the same movie but….
Marlon Brando and Robert Deniro were both nominated (and won) for playing the character Vito Corleone in the Godfather (Brando) and Godfather 2 (Deniro)

Good special effects, ridiculous melodramatic plot. Kate Winslet is sadly also a Roman Polanski apologist.

Looper would’ve been cool to get it too… (not that they deserved Oscar’s for it, just thinking of other movies it could’ve happened)

They nominated Old Rose? She had barely any screentime, and it wasn’t that powerful or moving a performance. Seems strange.
I’m over here thinking: ok… makes sense that the 1997 Titanic movie might actually be a remake of a 1967 film-explaining why both had a “Rose” character-and maybe the older actress had a cameo that I didn’t know about.
I clearly need to get out more.

It was the 1997 movie, “Titanic” that marked the first time in Oscar history that two actors were nominated for playing the same role…Kate Winslet -Best Actress & Gloria Stuart – Best Supporting Actress, for playing Rose DeWitt in the blockbuster movie[source ](http://
